Contested matters are often lengthy and time-consuming. They often require special interim orders, called Temporary Orders, mediation, and a process called "discovery." Most attorneys charge a retainer (deposit) of between $3,000 and $10,000 for contested matters.

If you believe your case may be contested, please call our office and our staff can give you more information about your options and service available, including referrals to trusted attorneys, mediators, and other professionals.
