UNCONTESTED DIVORCE (Represented by an Attorney)
Our uncontested divorce service is a flat-rate service, similar to the do-it-yourself divorce service, but it removes the hassle of having to serve and file the paperwork yourself, by having an attorney represent you and appear on your behalf. With our flat rate service, we take care of the technicalities of your action, removing any anxiety that may come from representing yourself in your uncontested matter.
Utah Family Legal can not provide an attorney for both you and your spouse. We can provide legal services for only one party in a divorce action. If your spouse has already consulted with our office we may not represent you in your divorce action.
This is a limited-scope option but includes full service for an uncontested divorce. We will draft all necessary divorce documents for you and file them with the Court. As long as your matter remains uncontested, our office will correspond with your spouse (or your spouse's attorney) to obtain all necessary signatures, and facilitate any and all communication with the Court about your filings and the status of your action. This flat-rate service is only available for uncontested divorces, so you and your spouse must be in substantial agreement on all terms of the divorce. The flat-rate cost of this service does not include negotiations with your spouse (or spouse's attorney) about the divorce terms. If some negotiations are necessary, or if your divorce requires extensive consultations, negotiations, or meetings beyond your initial consultation, you may be charged an additional fee for those services.
The costs associated with this service are:
-
Uncontested divorce (no minor children): $600 + required filing fee ($318)
-
Uncontested divorce (with minor children): $800 + required filing fee ($318)
-
(Optional) 30-day waiting period waiver documents: $75
-
(Optional) Summons: $50.00 + constable service fees
If there are minor children involved in your divorce, there is a require Divorce Education Class and Orientation offered through the court that is required to be paid directly to the court or service provider when you attend the required course and orientation.
